Work
Fifteen years of metadata work, across the industry.
The publishers below have engaged Kadaxis on keyword research, metadata strategy, and search visibility work for individual titles, full lists, or specific imprints. The roster spans the Big Five, the largest independents in the English-language market, and a deliberate selection of category-defining specialty presses. Specifics of any engagement remain confidential.
Big Five and major trade publishers
Engagements at this scale typically begin with a single imprint or a backlist segment, then expand. The work is highly title-specific, integrated with existing ONIX workflows, and reviewed across multiple publishing seasons. We do not displace in-house metadata teams; we extend them on the keyword and search-visibility dimensions where specialist depth produces better results than generalist coverage.
Penguin Random House · HarperCollins · Hachette UK · Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Large independents
Mid-major and large independent publishers face a sharper version of the discoverability problem: less internal metadata bandwidth than the Big Five, a list that often spans more categories, and tighter margins on each title. Our work with this segment tends to be list-level rather than title-level, with the goal of lifting the floor on every backlist book that has been left under-described.
Workman · Sourcebooks · Abrams · Skyhorse · Ingram · Wolters Kluwer · Kaplan
Specialty and category-defining presses
Specialty presses publish into categories where the language readers use to search is often very different from the language used in catalogues, and where small shifts in metadata can produce disproportionate visibility gains. Religion, psychology, art and museum publishing, illustrated and gift, business, education, audio, and crowdfunded fiction are all represented in our work.
Pottermore · Getty Publications · Zondervan · Sounds True · Brilliance · Insight Editions · New Harbinger · Guilford · Greenleaf · ECW · Plough · 1517 Media · Cider Mill · Group · Portage & Main · Invisible · Our Daily Bread · Start Publishing
We do not publish case studies, named testimonials, or revenue figures. The publishers above engage us on commercially sensitive metadata work, and the standard of discretion is non-negotiable. If you require references in confidence as part of a procurement process, we are happy to provide them.
